About the Item
A Zebra design rug, contemporary production, in style of Art Deco, hand knotted, using finest hand spun Bamboo Silk.
This hand knotted Zebra Hide Design Rug has the Art Deco touch. Animal print designs were on Vouge in the 1920´s and still bring the vibes to good interior design. These rugs go perfect in a master bedroom ans bedside decoration. We also have matching runners in the same design and quality in 9 x 3 ft and 10 x 3 ft. If you like this style but need other sizes, we will produce them for you in 12 to 16 weeks, depending on how large you need the rug. We can produce up to 26 ft length and 17 ft width.
Bamboo silk is a fiber made of the fast growing natural resource Bamboo Gras, transferred into a fine and durable material using the viscose method.
Current production, other sizes can be made on order.
The Djoharian Design Collection is located in Germany, all our rugs are shipped from there. We are licensed FAIR-TRADE partner of LABEL STEP FAIR TRADE CARPETS. Label STEP is the fair-trade non-profit organization committed to the wellbeing of weavers and workers in the handmade carpet industry.

An Art Deco Zebra design rug, contemporary production, in style of antique Chinese rugs, hand knotted, using finest Tibetan highland wool.

A real eye catcher. The zebra pattern on this rug is based on a design from the 1920s. In the Art Deco era, "animal" patterns were very popular. At various auction houses, including Sotheby's London and Lyon & Turnbull Glasgow, the designs for these pieces from the 1920s were assigned to the English architect Oliver Hill (1887 - 1968), who is said to have had such carpets made in Tiensin in North China for Nichols of London. Unfortunately we cannot find any evidence of this. We produce these carpets as a new edition in the classic size of 200 x 120 cm / 7 x 4 ft. Other formats are also possible on request.
