From Western China, this nearly square city carpet features a lightly drawn vase and pomegranate design on a pale straw field. The nine borders include zig-zags, chains of cartouches with stars, and rows of cloud knots. The tonality is generally light and the rug has a room-expanding look. The vase and pomegranate tree pattern is a Khotan stand-by.
