Hand-knotted in wool and originating from China circa 1920-1930, this 13x18 antique Chinese Art Deco rug is a rare oversized collectible from the 1920s Chinoiserie style period pieces, and one of our new favorite curations.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft and collectors alike will note this antique collectible is unlike almost any other we’ve seen—not just for its amazing large size, but for the borderless all over pattern departing from the more architectural sensibilities of other Chinoiserie period pieces. A field of amber gold underscores a continuous series of curvaceous, elegant floral patterns in navy blue and red tones, with some stylistic off-white accents and varied shades within the colors that remark an excellent sense of depth and dimension.
