Hand-knotted in wool, this 2x15 modern extra-long runner rug from our Modern Classics collection, has been particularly inspired by a Tibetan take on the style. This modern extra long runner tiger skin rug celebrates one of the most rare and treasured pictorial animal rug styles in history.
On the Design:
History meets art in this elegant piece with animal pictorials which is a rich new take on a historic style and a love letter to animal rugs in folk art for all their unique charm. Inspired by illustrations of Tigers in Tibetan style, it features two tiger skin illustrations face to face from end to end. The colorway is surreal, inherent to its beauty as it’s meant to inspire an immersive look of dimension and drama like a painting, but there are especially present, rich blue, gold, black and orange tones worth noting.
Its particular design nods to Tibetan tiger-skin rugs in a regal pictorial style like that of a pelt. The white field carries a gold
black tiger pictorial with a fine sense of definition in orange. It’s a smart reimagining of an iconic style with more refined quality that offers vast design applications.
