On the Design:
“Rez Kilim” represents a contemporary homage to Turkish and Persian panel-weaving styles in a textural approach to minimalist rugs. This piece enjoys a play of cream, gold and black tones, underscored by similar accents in the weft and stitching between the panels (or columns). Admirers of the craft will appreciate the way the fundamentals of a traditional flatweaving style have been reimagined in an almost impressionistic look at geometry, ribbing, and the subtleties of a Kilim. The result yields both a fabulous new look and a more comfortable, durable flatweave body for the modern design; a simple, comfortable choice that recreates the element of personal and intricate beauty of Kilims in new large sizes and refreshing colors.
