Originating in Nepal, this contemporary wool rug features an homage to antique Oushak rug designs. Hand knotted in durable wool with low pile, the field design employs accents of burgundy and blue in its expansive floral pattern, perfectly mirrored along a vertical and horizontal axis like a select number of Oushak pieces in antiquity, though these copper and golden beige colourways reflect contemporary sensibilities compared to more earthen or vibrant Oushak rugs. Framed by muted inner and guard borders, the middle, lighter beige border elaborates on the expansive geometric pattern with peonies and palmettes throughout a finely woven vine scroll, symbolizing power and rejuvenation.
