This 8x10 contemporary rug is an exciting new addition to the Modern Collection by Rug
Kilim—made with hand-knotted wool and silk in one of our most luxurious Nepalese pile qualities, a new edition of the “Dorian” series, enjoying concentric geometry inspired by Cubist principles.
On the Design:
"Dorian" presents a study in concentric geometry, where repeating squares with a rippling effect create a mesmerizing optical effect throughout the all over pattern. The design achieves depth through subtle gradations of bronze and beige-brown tones atop a slate gray background—each square seeming to recede and advance in a rhythmic dance—complemented by the silk’s natural sheen and its play of the light in any space. Admirers of the craft will appreciate our modern interpretation of Op Art principles, where precise linear elements build to create an almost three-dimensional effect. The intentionally restrained palette enhances the pattern's architectural impact, while careful variations in tone provide visual texture.
