Kilim represents a particularly rich and unique new unveiling from our team’s European Collection—both as one of the most luxurious examples of our hand-knotted wool and silk Nepalese pile qualities and as a one-of-a-kind irregular-shaped rug fragment with vast potential for custom stair landings, fireplace hearths and similar spaces.
On the Design:
A rich tone-on-tone play of burgundy wool and crimson silk floral patterns creates this piece’s fabulous sense of subtle elegance, as does its intricate, thick hand-knotted pile, both durable and luxe to the touch as it is a treat to the eye. Admirers of the craft will appreciate the pattern’s inspiration from Italian velvet, both in the particular choice of Damasque floral trellises and the delicious look and feel this particular blend of yarns achieves.
