Hand-knotted in silk in our most luxurious Nepalese pile, this 8x10 rug is a latest addition to our European rug collection, affectionately dubbed “Toledo” for the Spanish rug style of inspiration. On the Design: Our “Toledo” design is a new take on antique Spanish Arts Crafts rugs of the 1920s. Keen eyes will admire an all-over pattern that enjoys a repeat with finely detailed florals in an elegant play of gold and red—and connoisseurs may further admire ice blue and green tones in kind. The interplay of these bright colors brings out the range of the silk’s natural sheen, itself complementing the sense of movement and length in this mirrored, kaleidoscopic floral pattern and its skillful variations of definition; an achievement in capturing classic European rug sensibilities with modern features.
