Hand knotted in a blend of wool and silk, this 5 x 7 transitional rug joins the European Collection by Rug
Kilim—drawing inspiration from a traditional Spanish floral pattern affectionately dubbed “Bilbao” among the recent additions to this line.
On the Design: The natural luster of the silk in this particular floral rug creates a light-and-dark play with the sense of movement, bringing out the skillful transition of the rich gold and red florals into the metallic notes against the prevailing beige background—an elegant employ of transitional elements honoring the inspirational style. Further to this piece’s rarity is the subtle silvery blue accent in the subdued background patterns, departing from other transitional rugs in this line from the collection and offering the richer hues a particular connection.
