Kilim’s Modern Collection from an exclusive line of artist collaborations—a new addition of the “Diamonds Vintage” series, made with hand-knotted wool and silk in one of the most luxurious Nepalese pile constructions in high-end rugs today.
On The Design:
One of the many arts of the pattern here is its subtlety, where the bold geometric figures are made of subtle color and texture variations—an artful use of a minimal palette composed of burgundy reds. Keen eyes will note the natural sheen of iridescent silk which lends this piece a breath of life with movement and dimensionality. Connoisseurs of the craft will appreciate that this transitional geometric rug design originated from a textile print made with a reel and ink on a fabric composed of luxurious silk-wool blend.
This particular vintage look and subtle high-low texture is achieved through a skillful use of fire—a proprietary oxidization process by torch in the finishing stages of the rug that lends it this element, and makes each absolutely one of a kind.
