Hand-knotted in a luxurious blend of wool and silk, this 10x14 rug is a bold reimagining of Mogul rugs in Rug Kilim’s most elegant Modern Classics Collection. On the Design: This piece features large-scale geometric medallions that have a subtle resemblance to designs in antique Mogul rugs known to favor this particular motif. Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will further note a subtle, textural element in this piece—not quite high-and-low, yet married to the abstractions in the geometry for a fabulous element of dimensionality and depth. The field features beige and brown medallions in an all-over style with light gold accents that read beautifully with the silk’s natural sheen and the subtle, tasteful play of light and movement it lends the pattern. It's a piece teeming with both a modern sense of movement and the regal grandeur of a classic.
