Made with handwoven wool, this 5x8 Kilim represents an exciting new line of Modern Classics and contemporary flatweaves by Rug Kilim—a series of designs inspired by antique Suzani Kilims and textiles, among the richest weaving traditions in Central Asian history. On the Design: A profound deep charcoal and black field underscores a borderless and utterly charming array of polychromatic animal and botanical motifs. The design is a joyful folk narrative, populated by abstract horses, roosters, and goats, all rendered in vibrant, segmented blocks of color—including electric blues, reds, yellows, and greens. Each motif is scattered whimsically across the dark expanse, framed by delicate, stylized leaves and flowers, giving the piece a sense of unrestrained, vibrant life.
