Kilim—a series of designs inspired by antique Suzani Kilims and textiles, among the richest weaving traditions in Central Asian history.
On the Design:
A clean, natural ivory field serves as a bright canvas for a joyful, borderless scattering of colorful geometric motifs. The design is dominated by scattered diamond shapes—some densely colored, others open and transparent—which float freely across the expanse. The field is further energized by smaller, abstract symbols, including cross-hatches, dashes, and lozenges, which lend the piece a spontaneous, primitivist geometric charm. Keen eyes will particularly admire how each motif enjoys a unique play of polychromatic colors (including soft blues, oranges, pinks, and greens), and the sense of whimsical, scattered life it lends this piece. A bright lime-green zigzag border frames the textile, providing a bold, graphic containment.
