Made with handwoven wool, this 6x8 Kilim represents an exciting new line of Modern Classics and contemporary flatweaves by Rug
Kilim—a series of designs inspired by antique Suzani Kilims and textiles, among the richest weaving traditions in Central Asian history.
On the Design:
A light cream white field hosts delicately embroidered floral patterns in hues of red, black and bright green through the field and borders alike. Keen eyes for detail will further admire subtle pictorial motifs in the all over pattern as well—namely the small-scale depictions of birds throughout the field, woven to look as if hopping from branch to branch of the floral patterns. Every detail reveals more of the particular, personal elements that distinguish this style, full of movement and unexpected orientation that makes each piece in the collection one of a kind and teeming with an idyllic charm.
