About the Item

A Tibetan Tiger rug, hand knotted in Nepal, 2/3 silk and 1/3 wool pile. This traditional Tiger rug design is typically found on antique rugs called Khaden. It describes a small sized rug of about 3 x 6 ft that was used in Tibet to decorate columns or seat pad. Often these Khaden rugs had Lotus design or Tiger stripes. This particular rug is has a plush and super soft pile and fantastic quality. Our collection of Tibetan Tiger rugs is made in different material combinations. The displayed rug is made of 66% real natural silk and 33% handspun wool. To get the unique and elegant look, we blended the fiber spinning 2 ply silk and one ply wool together. Total pile height about 1 inch or 2.5 cm. This rug has a fantastic feel, very soft and smooth. We can produce this design in sizes up to 20 x 16 ft on order. Other color combinations are possible. Following Pantone colors are very close to the colors of the rug: Pantone 15-1225 TPG Sand Pantone 17-1137 TPG Cashew This item is from our current Djoharian Design Collection production, other colors and are available /can be made on order. The Djoharian Design Collection is located in Germany, all our rugs are shipped from there. We are licensed FAIR-TRADE partner of LABEL STEP FAIR TRADE CARPETS.
