This bold wool carpet has been woven with a rich red background that has been decorated with a traditional medallion design. Symmetrically woven with botanical patterns including flowers and leaves that elegantly cascade around the intricate medallion in accents of green, blue, ivory and yellow. This has then been framed by a repeating pattern, layered border that elegantly encloses the central design. This fine wool area rug was constructed by master weavers in the 1950s, using only the finest hand-spun wool and cotton that have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques that have been used for decades.
