About the Item

This rug is a Ziegler Sultanabad rug made on our looms by our master weavers in Afghanistan. It is handmade with all-natural veg dyes all hand-spun wool. The large-scale design makes Sultanabad regarded as the most appealing to European and American tastes. The rugs of Sultanabad are extremely desirable in the modern marketplace. The popularity of Sultanabad rugs goes back to the mid-19th century. Sultanabad’s were designed and produced for export to European consumers in the 19th and 20th centuries, with the Ziegler firm being the primary producer. This piece features a traditional floral Zeigler design woven in accents of beige and brown on a rich red background. The colours and design make it the perfect accent accessory, suitable for both modern and classic styles. Constructed by hand with only the finest materials, including hand-spun wool and cotton that have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques used for generations. The materials and techniques used in constructing this fine wool rug make it durable and sure to last. This piece is in great condition, ready for use in any home.
