On the Design:
This vintage design demonstrates exceptional compositional discipline through its systematic all-over pattern of repeating geometric medallions arranged in precise rows across the dramatic deep black field. The signature gul motifs—stylized geometric forms—are rendered in luminous, warm tones of soft peach, pale gold, and muted slate green against the profound darkness, creating a high-contrast, jewel-box effect. The medallions employ a structured diamond and intricate cruciform configuration. Notably, the piece is framed by a broad border featuring geometric step patterns in shades of apricot and pale tan, which beautifully illuminates the edge.
