Kilim’s Collection; from a newly curated line of unique pieces entering their vintage tenure, made with hand-knotted wool and originating from Pakistan circa 1970-1980.
On the Design:
This vintage design demonstrates exceptional compositional discipline through its systematic all-over pattern of repeating geometric medallions arranged in precise rows across the striking deep navy field. The signature gul motifs—stylized geometric forms—are rendered in vibrant tones of soft tangerine, olive green, and pale blush against the deeply saturated field, creating a high-contrast and energetic visual appeal. Notably, the rug is framed by a broad, dominant primary border featuring geometric designs in rich apricot and warm tan, which beautifully complements the cool field color. The medallions employ a complex cruciform configuration. Secondary geometric elements fill the negative space, maintaining coherence and traditional tribal density.
