About the Item
This hand-woven Bokhara oriental rug was made in Pakistan during the 1960s. Traditionally flatwoven and dyed in shades of red, blue, and ivory. Bokhara rugs are a traditional type of rug with a distinctive pattern and origins that originate in present-day Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The patterns on these rugs are inspired by the textiles of Turkmen tribes, particularly the Tekke. Bokhara rugs have a very distinctive pattern, typically consisting of repeating geometric motifs, most often oval or rhomboidal Gul shapes. This pattern is arranged in rows and columns, often surrounded by borders of smaller geometric patterns. Traditional Bokhara rugs feature warm, deep colors such as red, burgundy, dark blue, beige, and various shades of brown. These colors are achieved with natural dyes. They are usually made of wool, sometimes with the addition of silk, giving them a softness and a delicate sheen. These rugs are handwoven with great precision and attention to detail, making them prized for their quality and durability. Bokhara rugs are prized worldwide for their elegant appearance and durability, while also representing a beautiful example of traditional handicraft.
The rug is in original vintage condition. It shows signs of age-related wear, with minor imperfections in the fabric and fleece. Before shipping, the rug will be professionally cleaned and ready for use.
The colors of the products shown in the photos may differ slightly from the actual ones. This is due to individual monitor settings and lighting conditions – the photos were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of colors. However, we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the actual appearance of the product as faithfully as possible. The offer may include photos of item in the living space, but these are for illustrative purposes only.
