This beautifully preserved vintage Turkmen Tekke area rug from the early 1900s features a classic allover small medallion, or “Gul,” pattern that exemplifies the artistry of Central Asian tribal weaving. The rug's field is rendered in a warm and graceful brick-red tone, complemented by medallions in navy, yellow, ivory, and soft pink. Finely woven with a high knot density, the rug boasts a luxurious wool pile on a wool foundation, using natural vegetable dyes that lend a rich, organic palette. An exceptional example of nomadic craftsmanship, this piece adds warmth, cultural character, and refined texture to both contemporary and traditional interiors.
