About the Item
This is a uniquely patterned antique Ziegler Mahal rug. The pile is made with hand-spun wool and it has a cotton foundation. It has the Ziegler Mahal traditional feature of a large ornate floral center and is surrounded by several individually patterned borders. This rug uses multiple colors however they are all balanced with light subtle shades. These colors include gold, grey blue, red, and hints of green. Measures: 11'3 x 14'10.
This piece is in great condition considering its about 150 years old.
Ziegler Mahal carpets were produced by the British-Swiss Company Ziegler
Co. This style often features an ornate floral center and a lightly colored field. They are considered to be among the finest early 19th-20th century carpets.
