The purple-red field is open at the center and is asymmetrically delimited on the edges by corner squared floral wreath strongly accented with colorful lotus leaves and flowers. Unusual carpet, good condition. Wide detail palette with yellow, rust, light green and a tiny bit of light blue
Vintage Art Deco Chinese Wool Rug, 1930s.
Dimensions: 140×200 cm (56x80 in)
This is a handwoven rug made of wool pile on cotton warp, with rich flowers and bamboo designs, against a dark raspberry background. Chain and leafage corner motifs are enhancing the overall gorgeous appearance. This model is sometimes called a ‘sculpted Chinese wool’ rug because of the tool used around the floral designs. A thick, heavy, deep-piled rug with large white fringes at both ends.
This rug is in very good preowned condition. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It has been professionally washed and is ready to find a new home.
