About the Item

Art Deco was a taste phenomenon that influenced the furnishing of houses in western countries between 1920 and 1940. This style was strongly influenced by an exotic taste. From the encounter between a decidedly Chinese style and the new art of furnishing in the West, the Nichols rugs (by the designer who invented them) are born with a renewed chromatic taste that can sometimes be risky. Cascades of flowers on a background combined with bold tones are the main feature of this production. In our example, the solid blue background enhances the warm tones of the rich flowering on the four corners.
