About the Item
Modern Tibetan “Tiger” Wool Rug by Doris Leslie Blau
Size: 2'0" × 3'0" (60 × 91 cm)
Color: Black, Brown
A masterclass in modern minimalism inspired by the wild, this Modern Tiger Rug reimagines the classic animal motif through a contemporary design lens. Hand-knotted in Tibet using the finest wool, the rug features an abstracted tiger-stripe pattern rendered in bold black against a warm, natural camel-brown background.
The design draws inspiration from the dynamic energy of tiger markings but translates them into a rhythmic, linear composition—more architectural than organic. The black motifs echo across the surface like fragmented brushstrokes or coded symbols, creating a sense of movement and layered texture. This pattern provides visual interest without overwhelming the space, making the piece ideal for a variety of modern or eclectic interiors.
With its durable wool pile and meticulous Tibetan craftsmanship, this rug not only offers visual intrigue but also exceptional softness and longevity. Whether placed in a cozy study, under a statement chair, or hung as textile art, this compact yet impactful piece celebrates the harmony between tradition and avant-garde design.
This modern rug, available through Doris Leslie Blau, redefines contemporary luxury with its exquisite design. With a wide range of prices, Doris Leslie Blau makes exceptional rugs accessible to collectors and designers alike.
