About the Item
I don’t know of any other East Turkestan rug with only two niches, displayed here in a sort of yin yang. The outstanding palette, consisting of three shades of red, blue and green, is used with the mastery of an experienced weaver, imparting a translucency similar to Medieval glass mosaics. All my fellow hunters will agree that early east Turkestan weavings are among the hardest one to find. This certainly belongs to the pinnacle of this rare family of rugs.

- Condition:Repaired: There are some minor areas of repiling which were done in order to improve the overall articulation of the pattern. Wear consistent with age and use. The price is without VAT (22%) as the latter doesn t apply should the carpet be sent outside the EEC. VAT applies within the EEC only to individuals without a VAT number. Within Italy VAT applies in every case.
