This 9x12 kilim rug from our European collection marks a modern take on 18th century Aubusson flatweave styles among our principal’s favorite curations. Handwoven in wool, the warm red accent sits comfortably with beige-brown, gold and gray-blue tones gorgeously complementing the curvature
cartouches with unique vertical border emphasis in this neoclassical style. Inspired from one of the most sought-after French sensibilities in a contemporary quality and durability while maintaining the gracious scale Aubusson flat weaves were known for—well suited for spacious projects.
Connoisseurs may note this particular design draws on a late 18th century, very empire style design, likely among the most elegant Aubussons every made. The variety of yarns used to reimagine the handspun effect of the inspiration is a technique and result our principal is exceptionally proud of in this collection.
