A 1940s handwoven Chinese pictorial rug ,within the central field are various scenes, at the foot of the rug is a bowl of peonies springing from a vase leading up to a water scene that finishes at the top of the rug with a four tier pagoda surrounded in clouds. The wonderful border repeats the peony theme and the two guard borders colorfully finish the pictures off.

The two urns holding flowers are repeated in mirror image at both ends of the rug with a circular globe pattern in the center with beautiful floral designs.
