This antique, circa-1920, Indian rug has a chocolate-brown field with three bold polychrome columns of linked lozenges alternating with palmettes each with a palmette or a stylised dragon motif together with floral stems and flowerheads, in a bold buff-brown border of angular polychrome floral vine between narrow plain stripes.
