“Abstraction” is a series of wool carpets that represent a landscape of lake Como seen through the eyes of local artist and designer Tommaso Spinzi. The Lake has always been a great source of inspiration and an escape from the buzz of Milano. A place gently wet by water, surrounded by mountains, vibrant and savage, silent and surrounding.
During the first lockdown in Italy, this place of memories and experiences gave life to a series of paintings inspired by the colours, reflections and shapes of the lake.? The paintings pay a personal and familiar homage to the artistic heritage of Lake Como, from the materic works of the celebrated “magistri cumacini'' to the neo-futuristic shapes of painters like Mario Radice. We have then decided to turn the geometric lines into a series of artworks that can compliment interiors, bringing inside the warm feeling and colours of nature.
