Originating from India circa 1880-1890, this 10x17 antique Amritsar rug is among the most rare additions to our collection.
Inspired by early Persian design, this hand-knotted wool masterpiece depicts an elaborate mural of grand pictorials and floral patterns. A most unusual, yet regal colorway includes henna green with beige-brown, gold, and pinkish-red notes of the richest variety. Connoisseurs may admire animal pictorials surrounding the floral medallion, drawing heavily on classic Tabriz hunting rug inspirations.
Further enjoying good condition, an extremely collectible awe-inspiring piece of distinguished provenance, gracious large size, and fabulous drawing.
