Hand knotted in wool and natural silk, this addition to Rug
Kilim’s New and Modern Collection draws an intriguing variety of inspirations from classic Art Deco rug patterns, employing an even more prevalent emphasis on juxtaposition and superimposed pattern than its traditional influences enjoyed. The positive-negative play of the bold white geometry against the deeper purple and black background has a naturally arresting quality and meticulous, unmatched detail in large-scale pattern achieved by one of our most reputed workshops in India. The similar juxtaposition of the sharp, outstanding field pattern with the variations of purple surrounding create a gravity similar to that of medallion-style rugs, complemented by the subtle sheen of the silk for an almost glowing look in the colorway variations as well.
