Kilim, refined over three years constructing large-scale drawing, graph, and color with influence from distinguished 50s patterns. This particular piece was influenced by the iconic 1951 “Chequers” pattern by Terence Conran, with this piece being the first-known production as a quality carpet in durable wool and luminous silk. The piece refines this pattern with bold, lively colourways including the pink background and the highly stylized black checkerboard pattern isolating hues of golden-yellow, textural brown, and other geometric drawings reflecting the era’s inspiration for this collection.
