About the Item

A vintage Indian Cotton Agra throw rug. A columnar pointed arch encloses 13 identical flowering plants and is itself fitted into a stepped portico outlined in crosses and cypresses in panels. The palette, though primarily ivory, is pleasantly wider than the usual bitonal white and blue of cotton Agras. This rug will make an excellent hanging and it is particularly well detailed. Design adapted from painted kalamkari textile from Persia and India. Measures: 2' 10" x 4' 1"
