Its design is directly inspired by antique Persian rugs of Gabbeh craft—one of the most unique and archaic primitivist weaving styles, known in particular among nomadic tribal rugs for their bold pictorial designs like this silhouette of a lion.
Crafted from a dense, hand-knotted blend of wool and luminous silk, the design captures the essence of a powerful animal silhouette against a soft, neutral ground. The oversized lion motif, rendered in deep charcoal and black, is filled not with solid color, but with a mesmerizing, internal pattern of abstract tribal diamonds and maze-like geometry. The subtle shimmer of the silk highlights this internal pattern, creating an illusion of depth and movement within the static form.
