This custom rug design represents an exclusive artist collaboration between Jenn Ski and the Mid-Century Modern rug collection. Inspired by 1950s styles, this collection explores atomic age, postmodernist, maximalist and art rug sensibilities never-before represented in this craft. On the Design: These photos represent a recently sold 6x7 rug, hand-knotted in silk in one of the most reputed workshops today. Its design plays atomic-age geometric patterns in gold and brown, superimposed on a borderless blue field. Keen eyes will admire the fine curvature and attention to scale—key to the graphic beauty and presence unique to this style. Admirers of the craft will appreciate the feats of large-scale drawing, texture, durable pile and refinement that underscore its beauty—exemplary of this collection and its many hands. About Jenn Ski: A graduate of the University of Massachusetts representing the team at Lilla Rogers Studio, modern artist Jenn Ski has been designing and producing an impressive collection of mid-century modern style designs that drew Josh to our exciting partnership. Sharing our passion for postmodernism and atomic-age style, Jenn Ski’s collaboration with Rug Kilim represents the first representation of her work in our medium, with some of her current works favoring the mobile and cocktail style patterns emerging in the 1950s—connoting a remarkable student of the era who proudly references her home being built by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.
