On the Design:
These photos represent a recently sold 10x12 rug, made with hand-knotted wool and inspired by a design from 1910. Keen eyes will particularly admire the range of green tones in the fabulous colors this piece enjoys, from hints of sage and teal in the borders and geometric patterns to a play of olive and chartreuse hues in the field. There’s such a smart play of organic shapes and linework, too, both expressive yet minimalist in a masterful balance of the two, and it sits beautifully and naturally this luxurious pile construction as well—full of delicious textural and tactile allure, inviting one to walk over and touch.
