Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection—a sophisticated and elegant new approach to a historic style.
On the Design:
This piece underscores floral patterns in brown and green tones with hints of blue. Though this form represents a more minimalist approach, keen eyes will note inspiration from the many provenances known for repeating floral patterns in dense, deftly woven designs as this—a thoughtful and elegant new take on a traditional look. Keen eyes will note a high-and-low texture married to each pattern—an element of dimensionality that lends a gorgeous compliment to the sense of movement and depth. The block printing process is one of the oldest in textile design and has seen many adaptations. To wit, our designs draw on time-honored, even archaic designs, such as 17th-century Mogul rug patterns that allow admirers of the craft to recreate old-world charm within any space.
