On the Design:
This piece features a blue field with noticeable striae underscoring an all over repeat of geometric patterns in beige and cream tones. Though this form represents a more minimalist approach, admirers of the craft and keen eyes will note inspiration from the many provenances known for repetitive patterns in dense, deftly woven designs as this—a thoughtful and elegant new take on a traditional look. The luxurious wool-and-silk blend further creates a more elegant play of the light. The block printing process is one of the oldest in textile design and has seen many adaptations. To wit, our designs draw on time-honored, even archaic designs, such as 17th-century Mogul rug patterns that allow admirers of the craft to recreate old-world charm within any space.
