Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 3x4 contemporary rug is an exciting new addition to the Block Print line of Rug
Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection—a sophisticated and elegant new approach to a historic style.
On the Design:
This piece underscores floral patterns dominated by dusty red florets with very subtle blue and gold accents. The botanical print is arranged in a symmetrical grid, and is inspired from the many provenances known for repeating floral patterns in dense, deftly woven designs as this—a thoughtful and elegant new take on a traditional look. Keen eyes will note a high-and-low texture married to each pattern—an element of dimensionality that lends a gorgeous compliment to the sense of movement and depth. The block printing process is one of the oldest in textile design and has seen many adaptations. To wit, our designs draw on time-honored, even archaic designs, such as 17th-century Mogul rug patterns that allow admirers of the craft to recreate old-world charm within any space.
