Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 8x10 rug from the custom-classics Burano Collection by Rug Kilim is inspired by antique Caucasian rug designs. On the Design: Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will note the large-scale paisleys in the many floral patterns within—a well-traveled motif, though admirers of the craft may note Kuba rug weavers favored this particularly sharp, graphic paisley. A field of beige-brown and border of cream white tones underscores all over floral patterns in navy blue, red, and light green tones, among many colors at play beautifully capturing the colorful nature of these pieces. The especially soft, comfortable texture and impressionistic beauty inherent to the Ghazni wool is another contemporary element of note, and the soul of this collection therein; an intentional contribution to a classic for a comfortable, yet smart and sophisticated new language in design.
