Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 4x6 rug from the custom-classics Burano Collection by Rug
Kilim is inspired by antique Caucasian Kuba rugs of the late 19th century.
On the Design:
A light gold field and cream white border underscore geometric patterns, florals, and pictorials—the latter namely hosting figural illustrations of birds. Admirers of the craft will note rugs with pictorial and folk art elements were among some of the most special in any provenance, let alone Kuba rugs (celebrated by many in our field for these motifs, among many beauties). Though the polychromatic colorway is one of the other inherent beauties of the style—both in the impressive variety of hues and the sense of movement they enjoy—there’s especially present salmon red tones worth noting in the bright, particularly playful hues at work in the all over pattern this rug enjoys.
Keen eyes for the tactile will further appreciate an especially soft, comfortable texture and beauty inherent to the Ghazni wool that underscores this piece.
