Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 3x5 contemporary rug is an exciting new addition to Rug
Kilim’s custom classics Burano Collection, featuring geometric patterns drawing inspiration from classical Anatolian, Turkish and Caucasian motifs—particularly the "Lesghi" star pattern seen in the medallions here.
On the Design:
A rich red field underscores the three eight-pointed medallions, fabulously executed for the look of graphic, bold presence and old-world charm that has made this tribal motif so celebrated among our peers. Keen eyes for detail will further note the many other intricate tribal motifs, along with floral patterns in the borders and the more small-scale stars in the field alike, which all lend a fabulous look of dimensionality and intimate detail inherent to nomadic weaving traditions. This is a gorgeous shabby-chic piece, teeming with the rustic, traditional beauty and cultured air that will sit beautifully in any space.
