On the Design:
This piece represents a sophisticated departure from traditional symmetry, leaning into the evocative, "painterly" style that defined the most sought-after rugs of the 1920s. The field is saturated in a deep, lush forest green—a colorway that provides an opulent, velvet-like backdrop for the whimsical landscape unfolding across the canvas.
Rather than a centered medallion, the design features a lyrical cherry blossom tree that sweeps across the field with a naturalistic fluidity, its branches laden with blossoms in soft pink, amber, and ice blue. To the side, a slender, vertical waterfall motif introduces a sense of serene, cooling movement, balanced by a graceful butterfly in flight.
