Kilim’s Chinese Art Deco rug collection. The design reimagines 1920s period pieces and other rare vintage and antique rug designs of the Chinoiserie aesthetic.
On the Design:
A beige field underscores floral patterns in the two corners of the otherwise open field, in particularly playful jewel tones and bright hues, enclosed within a solid black border. Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will note both the impressionistic air to the pattern and the thickness of the pile—both thoughtful and immersive elements nearly indistinguishable from the classic inspirations of this line, save a more refined texture and durable pile for the modern home. Keen eyes will further admire the attention to detail in the field, where a seemingly open field actually sports very subdued, tastefully executed floral patterns.
