Made with hand-knotted wool, this 2x3 contemporary gift-sized rug from our Modern Classics collection is a chain stitch rug – a particular embroidery technique that yields some of the most finely executed patterns, like this series of paisleys in the all over floral pattern at work.
On The Design:
This chain-stitched design presents an allover pattern of interlocking paisley motifs in celestial blues against cream tones. The embroidery technique enables exceptionally fluid curved forms, with each paisley's sinuous outline demonstrating the precision possible through chain stitch work. The design creates continuous movement through overlapping boteh forms, while negative spaces between motifs add dimensional depth. The palette—sky blue, teal, and ivory—maintains sophisticated restraint while highlighting the intricate pattern work characteristic of fine chain stitch design.
