Kilim’s latest acquisition of new flatweaves—handwoven in cotton in India.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will note this piece as an oversized exemplar of contemporary interpretations of Indian Dhurrie flatweaves. The monochromatic palette of cool grays against a white ground creates a refined sense of depth and dimension, while maintaining a cool and minimalist aesthetic. The design alternates between three distinct motifs: a latticed diamond pattern creating a crosshatch effect, a modernist interpretation of traditional stick figures or geometric patterns in a repetitive formation, and bands of subtle checkered texturing.
