This contemporary 10x12 Dhurrie flat weave is an exciting new entry in Rug
Kilim’s esteemed custom-capable collection. Handwoven in cotton, it’s a modern take on antique and vintage Dhurrie flatweaves by one of the best partner looms in our craft, specifically led by a devoted collector and student of these Dhurries whose collaboration has allowed us to make the most meaningful contribution to the style.
On the Design:
Geometric patterns in blue and white hues address the field and the border alike, where the former enjoys mainly squares and the latter serrated diamonds. Keen eyes will further admire the subtle look of abrashed patina and striation within the geometric patterns—an intricate and thoughtful revival of the classic look of Kilims and similar pieces brought to a more livable, modern quality. It’s a work of warm, welcoming presence and smart balance alike, with vast design applications today.
