This contemporary 9x12 Dhurrie flat weave is an exciting new entry in Rug
Kilim’s esteemed custom-capable collection. Handwoven in cotton, it’s a modern take on antique and vintage Dhurrie flatweaves by one of the best partner looms in our craft, specifically led by a devoted collector and student of these Dhurries whose collaboration has allowed us to make the most meaningful contribution to the style.
On the Design:
Light green tones, primarily sage and similar hues, underscore geometric patterns in playful colors and particularly bright tones among the recent works of this collection—with a notable presence of light pink accents among those at play. Keen eyes will further admire the subtle look of abrashed patina and striation within the patterns—an intricate and thoughtful revival of the classic look of Kilims and similar pieces brought to a more livable, modern quality. It’s both a thoughtful nod to classic dhurries and a fabulous revival of the style with refreshing new brilliance.
